Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to make his debut with Al-Nassr and is already making headlines in the international press with all the spotlight is on the Portuguese star’s new experience in the Saudi Professional League.
There he will be coached by French coach Rudi Garcia, who has a wealth of experience managing top French clubs such as Olympique Lyon and Olympique Marseille.
However, Lyon legend Juninho Pernambucano does not have very good memories of the French coach. “My experience with Rudi Garcia was terrible,” the Brazilian declared in an interview to the Portuguese media MaisFutebol.
“He is the most evil character I have met in my entire soccer career.
“He doesn’t know how to lead anything. He leads by the fear he imposes on others.
“He only respects people who have power or those he can take advantage of in the relationship.”
Juninho’s Cristiano prediction
Juninho is clear that Rudi Garcia will be at Cristiano’s service to take full advantage of Al-Nassr’s star signing.
“He won’t dare do anything to get in the way, on the contrary, he will even serve Cristiano breakfast if necessary,” he continued.
“He will try to be Cristiano’s friend, to be close and he will do everything he can for that. It will be a dream for him to be friends with Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Garcia’s take on Juninho
After Rudi’s departure from Lyon in 2021, the French coach left with some harsh statements towards Juninho.
“I discovered that when the Brazilian signings didn’t play, he wasn’t happy. That created a problem. He does things behind your back,” the Al-Nassr coach had claimed.
In response, Juninho did not remain silent and lashed out at the former Lyon coach.
“Rudi Garcia doesn’t care about the success of the team and the atmosphere in the dressing room. What matters is that he is the center of attention,” the Brazilian shot back.
