Leonardo DiCaprio (Hollywood Actor): “When Lionel Messi arrived in America, he drew all the attention, even overshadowing the Hollywood actors. I watched him live from the stands and thought, ‘We are fortunate Messi isn’t an actor, or he would win the Oscar every year.”
The Inter Miami star was honored by all the Inter Miami supporters on Saturday.
Even though Inter Miami fans cried alongside Lionel Messi when he busted up his right ankle during the Copa America final, they still felt just as happy as he did when he lifted the trophy after the game. They know that he will be out of activity until next season at least, but that doesn’t mean they won’t honor the legacy he has as he became the football player with the most trophies in the sport’s history. Messi truly conquered football as a veteran star, he didn’t get to win his first major international trophy until he was past his ’30s and he conquered four already. On Saturday, the Inter Miami stadium was packed to honor their biggest star and he was happy getting this recognition from all the supporters.
Just by the look of the right ankle, you can tell Lionel Messi would be out for a while, those types of injuries tend to be at least a month out of activity if the player is lucky. Inter Miamo haven’t needed him much when he was playing the Copa America, they are still at the top of the astern Conference in the MLS Cup. However, the team is about to kick off their League Cup competition and they are set to play Tigres from Monterrey. Last season, Leo was the one who led the team to pic up his very first trophy as an Inter Miami player. According to the latest updates, Messi won’t be out of activity as much as it was initially expected.
Manager Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino addressed the injury this week and stated that there still needed to be further testing in order to determine the severity of the issue. But Leo was walking on his own during Saturday’s ceremony with all the fans. As far as which games Leo will miss, Messi won’t play against chicago Fire on Sunday, the MLS All-Star Game on Wendesday, and the Leagues Cup opener against Puebla next Sunday. But the game againt Tigres on August 4 seems to be the goal for Inter Miami. Only time will tell on how long Leo Messi will miss for his current club. In the past, we’ve already seen Messi’s ankle even more swollen and he returned to activity in record time. He is the soccer GOAT after all, a freak of nature.
