Royal news – Kate Middleton’s uncle blasts Meghan for ‘creating drama’ as details of outing retracted

Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith delivered a cutting assessment on the Duchess of Sussex as he spoke extensively about the royal family for the first time in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The 53-year-old businessman raised eyebrows when he was entered into the reality show which is broadcast.

Following a period of difficult news for the royal family, there are fears Mr Goldsmith, who is known for being outspoken, will bring more potentially damaging headlines over the coming weeks.

On Tuesday night, Mr Goldsmith came out with his first criticism of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He first said Harry couldn’t “throw your family under the bus” referring to his memoir Spare and “expect to be invited round for Christmas.

Then he said Meghan’s entrance into the family had brough an extra dynamic that “puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama”.

The on-screen drama came as doubts were cast over the first official royal duty of Kate with the army removing a claim on its website that the princess would review the Trooping the Colour in June.

The Princess of Wales has been recovering from abdominal surgery, and it was thought she would return to public duties after Easter.

Harry’s potential return to the UK
After he was quick to criticise Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith turned to the subject of a potential return to the UK for her husband Prince Harry on Tuesday night’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother.

After asking fellow housemate Sharon Osbourne on US opinion on the pair, Mr Goldsmith claimed the Duke would one day have to return to the UK.

He said: “At some point I think he’s going to have to come back and be part of the gang. I think he might need to. We’re a very forgiving nation.

“The meanest thing I said was that he wouldn’t make my pub team.”
